museum

Last week, while keeping busy to avoid sock puppet requests, we went to the Edmond Historical Museum with Quinn and Kerri. The museum is free! There is a small hands-on kids area with a little prarie house with dress up clothes and food and kitchen things. There is a history of phones part where you pick up antique phones and they play a message. Mark liked the phones. Kerri got better pictures than I did so if you have not seen them check out her blog. These were the only pics I got of the day. That is the edge of Mitchell wearing a fringed leather vest (You can't see the cowboy boots)! Cool Kid!

sock puppets

Last week Mitchell came up with the idea to make sock puppets. We had just read If You Give a Moose a Muffin where the moose makes sock puppets. I thought it would be more fun to make puppets with a friend, so I invited Molly and Kim over. We read the book on Tuesday, but did not get together with Molly until Friday. It was a long week trying to fend off frequent daily requests for sock puppets. We had to go somewhere everyday last week to keep Mitchell's mind off them. Finally it was Friday and Molly and Kim came over. It was their first time to play together so they were more interested in playing than sitting down for a craft! Kim and I had to strongly suggest (force) them to come inside to make the puppets. They did well at first, but quickly moved on to playing something else or watching TV, I don't know what. Never trust the attention span of 3 year olds! Kim and I ended up finishing them and they looked pretty good! The pictures don't really show our artistic talent. Again, I think it has to do with being three and never sitting still!

update on Sebastian

The MRI today turned up that it is only a blood clot. Sebastian woke up today and after a little vomit spell, that was thank goodness not followed by a seizure, he said, "Done" he smiled a little smile, and said "Daddy". One of the Doctors for the first time sounded confident and positive and said, "I know what this is, and we will get to work on fixing it!" Brian and Sara are very relieved and are feeling much better. Thank you for the prayers! I told Sara today that I had sent the mass e-mail request and that we had been praying specifically for Sebasitan to wake up and act like himself. It is such a great testimony to the power of prayer! Thank you so much! There are still questions to answer, like what caused the blood clot and his low platelet level, so be praying about that too. Thank you for praying!

Pray

Dear friends,
This is Sebastian. He is 12 months old and his parents are Brian and Sara. He is in the PICU at children's in Oklahoma City. He has been sick for two weeks and entered the hospital Thursday afternoon. He is now having seizures. They are doing an MRI today, Friday, at 3:00 to get a closer look at a bleed, or blood clot in his brain. Please pray hard for him today and for his parents and doctors. Sebastian is so young and is Brian and Sara's only child; they are very worried. Many of you know what it is like to have kids in the hospital. Please pray for them intensely. Pray that his seizures will stop, that they can diagnose the clot that is in his brain and treat it, and that he will be awake more and be able to return to acting normal quickly. Pray for his parents to have peace and patience and rest. Mitchell has been praying that they will be brave. Please join us in continuous prayer for them. Sara has been my friend since the 5th grade and our hearts hurt with them. Many of you have prayed with us for many things and we know that prayer is powerful! Thank you so much.
