practicing

We are practicing holding our new baby that will be coming in October!
Love, Mitchell and Mark

Well, this is the way I wanted to break the news, but Neil decided I needed prayers and decided to make our announcement last night at church! So, thanks for praying! I got to see the baby again today. It is almost 12 weeks old and was moving all over the place! I could see fingers and feet, and it looked liked it waved at me as it put its hands near it's face. The nurse had a good idea about the pain I was having and I feel good about her explanation. So things are good.

basketball

Here is one advantage to Neil's height! Neil and the boys played basketball one afternoon. Mark loved Neil lifting him up to shoot the basket! Mitchell was a little hesitant! I think it looks like lots of fun!

new curtains

This has nothing to do with Valentine's Day, but I have been meaning to put the pics of the latest decorating project that has been completed in the Roberts home, and I finally have time today.

This is our master bedroom. I feel kind of creepy putting pics of our personal space for all to see, but, I designed and made the curtains myself to match the bedspread, which I purchased, so I am pretty proud of them. I had a post this summer about a rude fabric guy who explained that manufactured products will never match the current fabric selections due to the fact that manufacturing takes a year or two to get the product out to market so the fabric used is "old". So, I had quite an interesting time finding fabric to match the "old" bedspread that I had just purchased! Here are the results!

Below is the bedroom when we purchased the house.
Tarheel blue is what we called it!

Snow sledding?

These are from the ice storm a few weeks ago. Neil took the boys out for a ride in the recycle bin. They had a great time until their last trip up the driveway. They took a sharp turn under the b-ball goal and tumbled out! I had the camera ready, and almost took a pic of the mis-hap, but thought I might be voted as worst mom of the year for exploiting my sons' accidents! Mitchell ended up with some "road rash" on his face, but we were stuck inside for so long, it cleared up before he could show it off to any of his friends!

The bottom left pic is just seconds before the wipeout, and in the one on the right, if you look really close, you can see Mitchell's mark of bravery on his upper cheek!
